Mickey Bergman, next to Governor Bill Richardson, at the negotiating table
Mickey is forging a diplomatic and humanitarian legacy through Fringe Diplomacy, a term he coined to describe his innovative discipline exploring the space in international relations just beyond the boundaries of States and Governments’ capacity and authority. He manages private diplomacy efforts in North Korea, Cuba, Myanmar, Middle East, and Africa. As Vice President of the Richardson Center for Global Engagement, an NGO created by former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Mickey works to free people held by criminal organizations and hostile regimes around the world. He also creates new political capital by leading Professional Exchange Programs to Myanmar, Cuba, Lebanon, and other regions.
