Johanna II is the Founder & Vice-President
Georg & Agathe Foundation and Co-Founder & Director of Celebrity Legacy. She is passionate about the importance of the arts in ones' life and believes that knowing your family's past and collective history can be insightful, enriching, and foster connection. Using her family's inspiring stories, she speaks internationally on meeting life's challenges.


Legacy: Johanna II directly descends from multiple historic legacies. She is the oldest daughter of Baroness Johanna von Trapp of the 
Trapp Family Choir and Trapp Family Singers, who was portrayed as the second youngest child, 'Marta', in world-renowned musical The Sound of Music. Her grandparents are Baron Captain Georg von Trapp, World War I Austro-Hungarian naval hero, and his first wife Agathe Gobertina Whitehead, granddaughter of British engineer Robert Whitehead (inventor of the torpedo). Her extended ancestry includes Dutch-Belgium nobility: Aspermont-Lynden; and Hungarian & Croatian dynasties and national-heroes: Esterházy, Erdödy, Pálffy, Széchenyi, Rákóczy, Zrínyi, and Frangepán.

Founder & President
Shela is the Founder & President of Celebrity Legacy and
Georg & Agathe Foundation.  She is passionate about historical preservation and the wisdom that often comes from examining our past. Holding a Masters in Energy & Environmental Analysis from Boston University, Shela previously spent a decade as a sustainability leader in corporate America and spoke on environmental and social issues. After many years of research and reflection on her diverse family heritage, today she speaks internationally—sharing insights, lessons relevant for us all, and the message that we are all more connected than we think. She also consults organizations on legacy management, as well as helping them link legacy thinking to their sustainability strategies.


Legacy: Shela directly descends from multiple historic legacies. She is a great-granddaughter of Baron Captain Georg von Trapp, World War I Austro-Hungarian naval hero and father of the von Trapp children—whose family's life story inspired the world-renowned musical, The Sound of Music—and his first wife Agathe Gobertina Whitehead, granddaughter of British engineer Robert Whitehead, inventor of the torpedo. Shela is a granddaughter of Baroness Johanna von Trapp of the Trapp Family Choir and Trapp Family Singers, later portrayed as the second youngest von Trapp child, Marta, in the play and movie.
