Marci coined and trademarked the term 'ECOfashion' in the 1990s and founded many ECOfashion lifestyle brands such as MetaWear, Under the Canopy, and Farm to Home, as well as Co-Founding BeyondBrands, Good Catch, and The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She has launched first time organic and sustainable fashion initiatives at top retailers—such as Whole Foods Market, Macy’s, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and AVEDAs—and is currently on the board of the Organic Trade Association, Textile Exchange, Organic Trade Association, and Fashion Revolution USA, as well as an Advisor to Fair Trade USA, Turning Green, and the Cradle to Cradle Innovation Institute’s 'Fashion Positive'. Additionally, Marci helped develop the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the first USA Fair Trade Textile Certification.
Marci has been featured in Entrepreneur, Newsweek, The New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, InStyle, Lucky, Vanity Fair, ELLE, CNN, Entertainment Television, and the Discovery Channel.
In 2018, Marci wrote ECOrenaissance: Cocreating a Stylish, Sexy, and Sustainable World (Simon & Schuster) to help educate others as to what they can do more sustainably in their own lives.
